Cammy Davis and Leo Vait at Oberon’s Three Penny Tavern. The tavern is a mix of “wenches, meat pies and brews on tap”. They also have Mead, which is a fermented honey beer. Oberon’s is located in the Plaza, across from the fountain. The Poet Pistachio was also mentioned. He will appear on stage at 5:00 pm. Poet Pistachio makes poetry on the spot, with words thrown out by the audience.
“Art words to make you sound like you know what the heck you’re talking about.” Today we discussed abstract versus representational. Abstract expresses the artists ideas on feelings, rather than showing the exact appearance of people or things. The art work must be interpreted by the viewer. Examples are Paul Klee and Wassily Kandisnky.
Representational art shows people and things as they are in real life, such as portraits, landscapes and still lives. Examples are Edgar Degas and early Picasso.
Music played today: ”The Best Day of My Life” by Katie Herzig, “The Best Day of My Life” remake by local flutist, Alena Chubet, and “Vincent” by Don McLean.
